Dues for Racers this racing season will be $65, non-racers $15.

2011 Collegiate MTB Nationals in WV!

Timberline Resort in Davis, WV. will host the 2011 Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships on October 28-30. Read the announcement here from USA Cycling.

Cyclocross Races

WVU Cycling is hosting a dual conference (ACCC + ECCC) cyclocross race weekend here in Morgantown this coming weekend. Both races are also open to the public and a part of the ABRA Cyclocross Race Series.

On Saturday, Oct 30, we will be mudding it up at the Marilla Park Cyclocross Race. Wear a costume!

Saturday night, we'll be checking out Pathfinder's MoTown Throwdown in downtown Morgantown on High Street.

Sunday, Oct 31, we will go to White Park for the WVU Cycling Cyclocross Race. Hope to see you there!

ACCC MTB Season Ends

Congratulations to Duncan Oliver and Emily Moy for being ACCC Division I Men's and Women's Conference Champions! Oliver will be heading off to Truckee, CA near Lake Tahoe to represent WVU at Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships on October 14-17. Now to begin preparations for Cyclocross season! WVU will be hosting a collegiate cyclocross race weekend on October 30-31, partnering with ABRA and the Marilla Cyclocross. Stay tuned for more details.

And Mountain Season begins...

This past weekend Virginia Tech hosted the first ACCC mountain bike race weekend for 2010.

Eleven racers headed down to Blacksburg and camped out. On Saturday, the racers rode up a mountain in a grueling uphill time trial, then turned around and came back down the mountain in a fun fast super D event. In the afternoon, Dual Slalom. In the evening, to wrap up a long day of racing, was a Short Track race under the lights. Sunday was the cross country race with "vomit-inducing climbs" (so proclaimed by VT).

Some notable finishes:
Duncan Oliver got 3rd in the hill climb, 6th in the Super D, and two first places in the short track and cross country! Zerbe got 2nd in the Super D. Most impressive are the new riders who turned out for their 1st collegiate race - Darren, Jared, Sunshine Steve, Brian Decann and Sequoya Moore. Sequoya especially had a good tight dual slalom race beating a VT girl and being the only other person other than Tyler to make it past the first round.
